Connector plates

The nail plate is responsible for connections in our truss system. Many years of experience is behind the nail plates we offer. The nail plate is produced in three thicknesses GNT-100S (1.0 mm), MiTek TopW (1.3 mm) and GNT-150S (1.5 mm). The nail plate is available in a wide range of widths and lengths. GNT-150S is also produced in a field splice version, where half of the plate has teeth for pressing, and the other half has holes for on-site nailing. This plate is excellent for on-site assembly splices.

The connector plate is made of hot-dip galvanised steel, yield strength ftyk = 350 N/mm2 and corrosion protection Z275 (275 g/m2 zinc) according to SS-EN 10326:2004, which corresponds to 20 µm.

We have D.O.P (Declaration of Performance) valid for use in Europe. See also under approvals.

Posi-Joist and Fire Protection

Brandskyddslaget’s Jörgen Thor, Ph. D., has performed a fire engineering analysis, including the impact of ventilation ducts in Posi floor joists. Read the complete analysis here.

Metalwork

Most of our metalwork are CE marked and ETA approved. Our production control is certified by RISE Technical Research Institute of Sweden.

Many of our standard products are also manufactured in stainless and acid-resistant stainless materials. Contact MiTek Industries for more information.

CE marked products – a guarantee of high quality

CE marking is a product marking of the European Community. The letters CE are an abbreviation of Conformité Européenne. CE marked products can be sold in the EEA without any additional requirements. It is an excellent opportunity for manufacturers to verify and declare the product’s characteristics in a common European way.

CE marking of all construction products covered by a harmonised standard (hEN) has been compulsory since 1 July 2013, when Regulation 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council (CPR) came into full force, replacing 89/106/EC (CPD). However, MiTek’s metalwork is not covered by any harmonised standard. We, therefore, have no obligation to CE mark. Still, to demonstrate good quality and self-control, we have chosen to CE mark these products. This is done through a European Technical Assessment (ETA) according to the guidelines in ETAG 015. ETA Denmark has carried out the technical assessment and issued the ETA. The certification body RISE in Borås notified body 0402 has issued an FPC for approved production control.

Exceptions are connector plates and steel straps covered by harmonised standard EN-14545:2008.

The new regulation also requires the manufacturer to declare the performance of the product in a so-called declaration of performance (DoP). You can find them here
